Swedish Biographical Lexicon (in Swedish)
SBL is a scientific and popular standard work that was first published in 1917. From 1962 it has been published under the auspices of the Swedish Government. To date, 31 thick volumes have been published, which makes SBL the second largest reference work in Scandinavia, next to the Swedish Academy's lexicon. The work is alphabetic and has now reached the letter S. The work is estimated to be concluded in the year 2015, comprising 38 volumes.
SBL withholds comprehensive biographies of people and families that have made names for themselves in the fields of Swedish society. The authors' are all prominent experts within their field. SBL is an excellent toll for historians, social scientists, teachers, librarians, journalists, students, genealogists, etc.
In volume 26, spanning more than 45 pages, one can find biographies of the Natt och Dag family and several prominent Natt och Dags from the 14th century.
